Percepção de motofretistas sobre a exposição ocupacional à poluição do ar em São Paulo

Profissionais que trabalham ao ar livre são especialmente expostos à poluição atmosférica. Este estudo avaliou a percepção de motofretistas de São Paulo sobre a poluição do ar e seus efeitos na saúde. Foram entrevistados 47 profissionais sobre hábitos, percepção ambiental, incômodos e disposição a pagar para redução da poluição. Constatou-se que os motofretistas estão expostos às mesmas concentrações de poluentes que os demais cidadãos do município. A percepção deles sobre à poluição atmosférica foi considerada baixa, com apenas 48% dos entrevistados a apontando como um problema ambiental preocupante. Contraditoriamente, mais de 70% mencionou sentir incômodos que podem ser relacionados com a poluição atmosférica e o gasto mensal médio com medicamentos foi de R$41,98. A disposição a pagar para redução da poluição atmosférica ficou entre R$10,17 e R$80,70/mês. A interpretação desses valores e a comparação com outros estudos evidenciam a falta de informação sobre a poluição do ar neste grupo profissional.
